This page explains how Decor Home and Garden chooses topics, writes, checks and updates its content. The goal is simple: you should know what you are reading, where the information comes from and how to ask for a correction.
Who is responsible for the content
The site is run by Biensky Fernandes, a real estate professional in Brasília, Brazil, who is responsible for the editorial direction and publishing decisions. Biensky is not an architect, interior designer or landscape designer, and the site does not offer professional consulting in those fields. The site is independent: it does not belong to a real estate agency and does not advertise properties.
How the articles are produced
Articles are written with the help of artificial intelligence tools, drawing on general knowledge of each subject and on public sources, and follow topics set by the site’s editorial direction. The process includes checks of structure, links, image credits and consistency between articles. AI helps write and organize, but it does not replace a design, an inspection or the advice of a licensed professional. For that reason, the texts do not include invented personal stories or fictional testimonials.
Sources and fact-checking
Information that can affect safety, health, money or rights (such as plant toxicity for pets, electrical and gas installations, building rules and legislation) should rest on reliable sources: official bodies, technical standards, recognized institutions and manufacturer guidance. In the main guides, these references appear in a “Sources and references” section at the end of the article.
Reference measurements and values, such as walkway clearances or pendant heights, are presented as common planning-guide guidance, not as standards. Always check the real dimensions of your space. When there is no reliable basis for a figure, it is left out or presented as general guidance.
What we do not do
- We do not invent tests, reviews, testimonials or results.
- Advertising, partnerships and affiliate links, when they exist, are disclosed, as explained in Advertising and Affiliates.
- We do not promise prices, deadlines or results: costs vary by region, brand and labor.
- We do not replace licensed professionals. Structural work, electrical, gas or ventilation installations and moisture assessments should be handled by someone qualified to do them.
Images
We use two kinds of images. Photos from free stock libraries such as Unsplash and Freepik, credited to the author and the source; and illustrations generated with artificial intelligence, always labeled in the caption as “AI-generated illustrative image”. AI-generated images are used to represent concepts (a smart home, a futuristic room), never to show a real product, plant or result. When an article depends on how something really looks, we use a real photo. When we publish our own photos, they will be identified.
Topics and editions in other languages
The blog covers the home as a whole: decor, plants and gardens, smart homes and artificial intelligence, solar power and EV charging at home, security, pets and global trends. Articles that depend on Brazilian rules, tariffs, stores or laws stay in the Portuguese edition only; this edition and the others receive global topics or versions adapted to international readers, never a literal translation of local content.
Unified guides and updates
When two articles cover the same subject, we prefer to merge them into a single guide instead of keeping near-duplicate texts. That is why some older pages redirect to the most complete guide; the room-by-room wallpaper articles, for example, now live in Wallpaper by Room. We review articles when information changes or when a reader points out an error.
